Erling Analyzes IKU-FCR: "When today's referee Sofie Borck Janeheim blew the whistle on the match, it was clear that RosengÄrd had not succeeded in their goal of taking the first win in this year's series."
After a long international break, it was finally time for a match again!
RosengÄrd set the course for Uppsala to meet IK Uppsala Fotboll at Studenternas - one of Sweden's nicest football stadiums.
During the break, RosengÄrd had met Trelleborgs FF in a training match that they won 4-0 and even though the team had respect for the newcomers IK Uppsala, the attitude was that there would be three points back to Malmö.
You probably know that the match ended 1-1. RosengÄrd's goal was scored by Remy Siemsen who in the 80th minute managed to push in a rebound after a corner and save a point.
To the great joy of the small crowd, IK Uppsala took the lead in the 69th minute with a fine long-range shot that was completely untouchable for Moa Edrud in the RosengÄrd goal.
Since RosengÄrd had been in total dominance and should have already had a lead by a goal in the first half, the home team's goal came as a bit of a surprise.
But as often happens when a team presses, the opposing team gets some chances and the home team created perhaps the clearest goal chance of the match early in the second half, when RosengÄrd offered a ball loss that gave a completely open goal and those of us who were there were sure that the guests' offer would break the deadlock.
But Molly Johansson in RosengÄrd wanted something different and managed to clear the ball on the goal line. Molly's performance was probably the highlight of the match for those of us who love to see players with the right attitude.
The coaching staff in RosengÄrd used their substitutions and the team continued to press to reduce the deficit, which they succeeded in doing and also went for a winning goal.
But when today's referee Sofie Borck Janeheim blew the whistle for the match, it was clear that RosengÄrd had not achieved its goal of taking the first win in this year's series.
Players, coaches and the rest of us who were up in Uppsala were all really disappointed that we had not achieved our goal.
The statistics speak for themselves; Corners 13-3 and shots on goal 26 â 4 ⊠RosengĂ„rd certainly should have scored more goals and decided the match. But at the same time, we have to take our hats off to IK Uppsala who put in a good defensive effort and were certainly pleased to have snuffed out the victory for the visitors.
After three rounds, RosengÄrd is on only one point and I see that someone has already used the word fiasco to describe the club's effort.
We who follow the team daily and experience how professional the coaches and players are and how hard everyone works to perform, are absolutely certain that the hard work will yield results and the first win will come.
I am certainly not worried!
Why not already in the next match when Malmö FF is the opposition.
Many like me tipped Malmö FF as one of the teams that could threaten HÀcken for this year's SM title. Malmö has a good squad and a basic game that will keep them at the top all season. Of course, it is a challenge that RosengÄrd faces on Saturday and even though the match is played at Malmö IP, "the blues" are favorites.
But as I often say, all matches live their own lives. The audience will definitely see an exciting and close match.
I hope you book your ticket today and see you on Saturday, May 2 at 1:00 PM
This weekend there were some interesting matches.
In the all-Swedish European final between Hammarby and HĂ€cken, the guests from Gothenburg won the first meeting 1-0 and have gained an advantage before the return match. So my tip remains - HĂ€cken will lift the trophy after the next match
The semi-finals of the Champions League were also played.
B Munchen met Barcelona and the result 1-1 gives the team from Spain an advantage in the return leg.
Yesterday Arsenal won over Lyon 2-1 and here too I stand by my tip that it will be Arsenal against Barcelona in the final.
SEE YOU ON SATURDAY! REMEMBER KICK OFF 13:00
